I came across this recipe at www.draxe.com when I was doing some research for a client. The benefits of turmeric are endless but what caught my attention the most when I first was learning about turmeric were it’s anti inflammatory and pain relieving properties. And I was freezing cold so I thought I’d try it. It’s really yummy. My husband on the other hand didn’t really think so. The face. OMG it was priceless. He’s so open minded and willing to try anything that doesn’t have nuts in it. He trusts me for some reason. 🙂
So here’s the recipe (makes 2 cups). Word of caution. If you’re going to cut the recipe in half, make sure you cut ALL of the ingredients in half, not just the liquid. I almost forgot. lol
1 cup coconut milk
1 cup water
1 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter – you can make it at home or buy it at the health food store)
1 tablespoon raw honey
1 teaspoon ground or grated turmeric
Place coconut milk and water in saucepan and heat for about 2 minutes on medium.
Add ghee, honey and turmeric to liquid and continue to heat for another couple of minutes.
whisk and serve
