Hormone Balancing, Energizing Hot Chocolate
1 cup almond and/or coconut milk (non dairy is important due to the inflammatory nature of dairy)
1 big tablespoon of raw cacao (not cocoa … that kinda defeats the purpose)(high in magnesium and gives you a little boost)
1 teaspoon or so of coconut oil (healthy fat, provides energy)
a few shakes (or more) of cinnamon, depending on your preference (this is really good for blood sugar balancing)
a dash or two of cayenne pepper if you can tolerate it (I can’t 🙁 despite the fact that I love it) (metabolism boosting)
1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (full of antioxidants and a little boost)
1 teaspoon maca (I’m currently using a combination of 3 macas since there’s a minor difference between the red, black and yellow) (hormone balancing)
Heat in a hot
If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can add stevia or honey.
I make one of these bad boys every morning and drink it on my way to work. But the time I’m there, I’m sufficiently awake (the workout helps too) and ready to take on the day. I rarely need anything else during the day.
One of the best things about this drink is that you can customize it. The main ingredients are the non-dairy milk, cacao, coconut oil and cinnamon. Outside of that … have at it!!!
